Trivia Night

The Trivia Night fundraiser is to raise money for our Reach Your Potential scholarship for adult women returning to college to further their education and develop her potential.

Always committed to its mission of responding to the needs of the community as well as developing the potential of women, the Junior League of Kingston established the Florence Cordts Scholarship in the 1990s, at that time the scholarship awarded one $500 scholarship to a college-bound female high school senior in Ulster County. The applicants were considered by a special committee appointed by the League and preference was given to those that demonstrated a strong commitment to voluntarism and planned to continue their education. The Florence Cordts Scholarship has grown to two $1,000 awards to young women graduating high school in Ulster County.

The league has now added a third scholarship award entitled “Reach Your Potential” for which League members are actively raising funds through events like our upcoming “Trivia Night.” The scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to a female age 25 or older living in Ulster County or the Junior League of Kingston’s surrounding service area. Applicants must be returning to or beginning college as a full time “non-traditional” student and enrolled in an Associates or Bachelor degree program. In addition the winner must have a strong commitment to further her education and develop her potential. A special committee appointed by the Junior League of Kingston will select the recipient.
