After Prom Party

In an effort to address the needs of the adolescent population in our community, the Junior League of Kingston co-sponsored an “After Prom Party” for the Kingston High School Senior Class for the first time in 1989 – 1990. Members of the Junior League coordinated the event in addition to being a major sponsor.

The event took place after the scheduled Senior Prom beginning at 12:30 a.m. at the Hudson Valley Mall. Each year, this event attracted over 400 Kingston High School students. Through the efforts of the Junior League and other community organizations, students enjoyed food, music, raffle prizes and a grand prize of a used car – and you had to be there to win. This event was great fun for our students and proved to be as much fun for our League members – how often do you get to stay up to 4:00 a.m.!!
