The Junior League of Kingston worked with the Office of the Aging and the Boys and Girls Club to create Blizzard boxes. The purpose of the boxes was to provide people who received Meals on Wheels with food to tide them over when inclement weather kept drivers from making their rounds. Food was purchased with JLK funds, while children at the Boys and Girls Club decorated some 500 plus boxes. The boxes were assembled and filled by members of the JLK at the Department of Social Services. The Blizzard Boxes provided seniors with items such as: juice boxes, Chef Boyardee pasta and snacks.
